The reason why? we have all these other delivery couriers like DHL, DPD fedex and now collect- plus the list goes on... (collect-plus is excellent) Royal mail is late on most deliveries, in some case's over 2-days then they leave the dreaded red card, this means you have to drive or get taxi to your nearest Royle mail depot only to find when you get there your package is still out on the van and you can (not) get it until the next following day. Were most delivery couriers would leave your package with a trusted neighbour or re-deliver your package at another convenient time.The royal mail seems to be stuck in the 1960's era.The Royal mail service leaves a lot to be desired (not good
Had to return large parcel (microwave). I thought it would be better to take it to the main depot instead of a post office with limited space. It would also save driver having to pick it up from post office to take to the main depot.The person at the counter ignored me instead of being courteous and saying 'I'll be with you in a minute' which would have made all the difference. When they did serve me the first thing she said was 'I can't take that here' before even trying to scan the label. She then said its to heavy you'll have to take it to the post office. I said to her I thought I be saving the post office the trouble of handling and storing a large parcel and your driver the job of carrying it from the post office to his van and from the van into the depot that its already in now.She just did not want to know so I took it to post office at Belmont Durham who were very professional and courteous. I explained what I had tried to do and they agreed it would have made sense but didn't seem to surprised so I believe this is not an isolated incident.It is now pretty obvious why we have so many different courier and delivery company's on our roads when our "Royal Mail" are so far behind the opposition.
Awful opening times and too far out to the city for people who cannot drive.
Very well organised team. Very helpful and quick. Just male sure to take ID with you; Driving licence I find is best! Make sure you check opening times before you set off. Wednesday is late opening.
Sent my application to Home office in Durham with 2nd class signed for, didn't get signed for they claim there was no return address, it went to NRC in Ireland over 6weeks now Have NOT seen my document, Juli whom I spoke to on the phone said NRC never received it, it got lost between Durham and NRC and to raise a claim for it. How did it get lost???? .
